Thank You Teacher

The remarks attributed to David Orentlichter (D-Indianapolis) on January 5th show what a true hypocrite we have representing the southern portion of Clay Township. The ethics professor was weighing in to the Indianapolis Star about House Speaker Brian Bosma’s legislative agenda. According to The Star, Orentlichter stated, “the speaker should be paying more attention to vital issues such as health care and tax policy and less to the prayer controversy.” It would be interesting to know if the Indianapolis Democrat was wagging his index finger at the reporter at the time.

Orentlichter should be ashamed of himself. He is an ethicist, a professor and a religious schoolteacher. He and his party stymied the legislative process last year by walking out of the General Assembly. Talk about paying more attention to vital issues! He’s got a lot of nerve to criticize the Speaker. The "prayer controversy" that Orentlichter spoke of was a tiny portion of the days events. Again, did he forget the public relations and ethics nightmare that the Democrats brought upon themselves a year ago? He then criticized Bosma for trying to create "religious conflict" while telling The Star reporter that he had no problem with private prayers. Which one is it sir? Make up your mind.

Representative Orentlichter, before you go around trying to educate people on how the world should be run, do us all a favor and quit being so two-faced. Maybe you can get away with that in Indianapolis, but in Clay Township, we’d prefer you’d learn first then teach.
